It all started in 1984 at Stern's Pharmacy, owned by Rich Herilla, the creator of HerillaFingerHydration. Rich had a formula for a cream that would resolve cracks in the skin caused by a lack of moisture and nutrients. At that time, I was working with him as a staff pharmacist, having been hired right out of college.


Rich first produced the formula at his home. We hand-made or compounded the ingredients of this cream in a large mixing container. Friends and family were the first testers. We also sold it to our pharmacy clientele. The product worked extremely well, even better than any commercially made product available.

After selling his business, the formula was shelved for several years. However, in 2010, his wife encouraged him to refine the formula and sell it commercially. This encouragement marked a significant turning point in Rich's journey.
